One Henry and Clayton State University Host “Tech & Tea” Networking Reception

Hardin, (Release # 0003-5-16)  HENRY COUNTY, GA – One Henry, a community and business effort centered on people, partnerships, and economic prosperity, is partnering with Clayton State University to host a “Tech & Tea” Networking Reception on June 15 in the Student Activity Center on the university’s campus in Morrow. Clayton State University President Dr. Timothy Hynes is set to welcome the crowd through opening remarks, and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) will share a presentation regarding their efforts to promote and leverage technology growth in Georgia. The southern portion of the Metro Atlanta area, Henry County in particular, is rapidly expanding with new companies and an increase in technology infrastructure for the growing economy and diverse industries making their way to the region.  TAG representatives, recognizing this movement, have agreed to look further into the development of the Southern Crescent contingent on the commitment of local businesses to establishing and enhancing a world-class technology presence. The Professional Services and Corporate Solutions (PSCS) subcommittee of One Henry is organizing the event to bring together key business industry and community leaders in an effort to further highlight the positive movement within the area, especially as it pertains to technological growth. “The ultimate goal of this event will be for establishment and development of a TAG group in the South Metro area,” said Richard Sylvia, chair of the One Henry PSCS subcommittee.  “This would be huge for our region.” Businesses from the area will also have exhibits on display at the event to highlight the importance of technology in relation to their industry or field of study. Tickets for the event are free to Clayton State University students with a valid ID and only $10 for anyone else wishing to attend.  Admission to the event includes the formal program, access to business exhibits, and refreshments.
